•Project Management and Construction Supervision for AFD Loan Funded Sichuan Post-Seism Re-construction Project (Deyang) was to manage post-seism reconstruction and restoration of infrastructure so as to assist the earthquake-affected people for after-earthquake recovery.
•Client: Sichuan Urban Environment Project Management Office
•Project Scope: road, bridge, water supply, wastewater and drainage system, municipal solid waste collection and disposal, flood control, slope protection and reinforcement, and canal restoration.
•Project Cost: USD100 million
•Implementation Period: Jan. 2011 - 2016
•ESD China undertaking: design review, procurement management, reporting and training, and construction supervision for 11 contacts including 2 water treatment plants, 20 km water mains, 2 wastewater treatment plants, 20 km sewers and roads, 2 major bridges, 5 km river dikes, and solid waste collection and transfer stations.
•Highlights: After the “5.12” Earthquake, the post-seism reconstruction project played an important role in helping the earthquake-affected people to rebuild their confidence in the future life. During the implementation period, ESD team introduced design & build contract mode for municipal engineering and completed construction works in limited timeframe, and restored normal daily life of local people and economic development.
